All Census Projects
The tangle of color in the first map above shows the overlapping footprints left by the Census of Marine Life during the ten-year survey of what lives in the ocean. To get a better idea of how work was divided, the legend to the left allows you to look at field project's research areas in isolation. The areas show different habitats within the ocean, and something about the research approach for investigating the realms beneath the waves. Enlarge
