The Census created the world's largest online repository of marine life data, over 25 million records from the Census field projects and many other research groups. The
iOBIS.org website makes all the data available for download, and further analysis. While the repository continues to grow, the map above shows that there are significant areas of the ocean when observations have yet to be shared (or even made). Also, notice how the Census Zooplankton project voyages contributed to the area between Australia and Antarctica.
